- A first higher education degree, or a recognised equivalent, or final-year status graduating before the programme starts
- Meet the academic, language and document requirements of each chosen consortium
- Maximum of three Erasmus Mundus programme applications per cycle
- Some consortia apply regional quotas, so check the individual programme page
An Erasmus Mundus Joint Master is a single integrated master's degree delivered by a consortium of universities in at least two Programme Countries, and you physically move between them during the programme. Scholarships cover full participation costs, which normally include tuition, library and laboratory costs and health insurance, plus a contribution towards travel and installation and a monthly living allowance for the duration of the programme, typically 12, 18 or 24 months. You graduate with a joint degree or with multiple recognised degrees from the partner universities. You may apply to a maximum of three Erasmus Mundus programmes in one cycle.
Students from all over the world are eligible. You must hold a first higher education degree, or be in the final year of one and graduate before the master's programme starts, in a discipline relevant to the programme you choose. Each consortium sets its own academic, language and document requirements, and some programmes set regional quotas, so read the specific programme's rules. There is no EU-wide GPA cut-off or age limit, although individual programmes may add their own criteria. Citizens of any country are welcome.
There is no single application portal and no single deadline. Browse the official Erasmus Mundus catalogue, shortlist up to three programmes, then apply directly on each consortium's own website. For courses starting in autumn 2027, most consortia open applications between October 2026 and January 2027 and close between December 2026 and March 2027. Check each programme page to confirm it still offers scholarships, and note that scholarships go to the best-ranked applicants rather than to everyone admitted.
Because every consortium sets its own closing date, treat December 2026 as the point by which your shortlist must be final. We have left the deadline blank on this listing rather than publish a date that would only be right for some programmes.
